Working Principle

The UAM-16320X-IE2T operates as a shallow-water underwater acoustic modem, transmitting and receiving acoustic signals within the 16–32 kHz frequency band. The device supports half-duplex communication, switching between transmit mode and receive mode to ensure reliable mid-range data links up to 3 km.

Equipped with an externally powered compact design, the modem converts electrical signals into sound waves for underwater propagation and decodes incoming acoustic signals back into digital data, providing stable and efficient communication for coastal, nearshore, and shallow-water applications. The TC4 titanium alloy housing ensures durability and corrosion resistance in harsh marine environments.
