Overview
System Composition
The Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) consists of two main components: a phased array transducer and an electronics housing.
- The phased array (pressure-resistant) is responsible for sensing velocity-sensitive acoustic signals.
- The electronics housing (non-pressure-resistant) performs signal preprocessing, acoustic signal analysis, velocity calculation, and acoustic signal transmission.
The electronics housing is installed inside a dry compartment, while the transducer is mounted in the wet end.
