The UAM-08160X-OEM is an underwater acoustic modem device designed for deep collaboration with users in OEM applications. An optional low-power duty module is available for long-term observation platforms, while configurable software for mobile platforms ensures maximum flexibility. The included OEM sensor operates at depths of up to 6000 meters. Supporting standard control protocols and offering technical assistance for protocol development, this device provides reliable acoustic communication with a maximum range of 10 km and a user data rate of up to 4 kbps (BER 10⁻⁴).

Signal Processing & Modulation
- Digital data from host systems—such as subsea sensors, AUVs, or surface buoys—is fed into the module through standard serial interfaces (RS-232 / RS-485 / RS-422).
- The UAM-08160X-OEM applies advanced modulation schemes (MASS, SC-MPSK) to encode information onto acoustic carriers in the 8–16 kHz frequency band, enabling stable underwater acoustic communication across varying marine conditions.
Acoustic Transmission in the Marine Environment
- Once modulated, the acoustic signals are transmitted through water, covering ranges up to 10 km with data rates from 100 bps to 4 kbps.
- Operating in half-duplex mode, the system alternates between transmitting and receiving, ensuring efficient use of bandwidth.
- The module is engineered to withstand propagation challenges such as multipath reflections, salinity variations, and deep-sea pressure, ensuring consistent performance in subsea communication networks.
Reception & Data Reconstruction
